Listen everyone, i’m writing this July 25th 2012, i just got this virus about 20min ago, do what the video tells you to do up until you are in safe mode, then go to all programs and delete that file that looks like a microphone labeled CTF or another, then go to search in the start tab menu and type in %temp%. It’ll bring you to your temp folder, I simply selected all the files and then deleted everything in there. After that i rebooted and my laptop was fine, good luck.

This is how to fix this problem
Open in Safe mode with command prompt
    Type in “Explorer.exe”
Click the start button at the left bottom hand corner
    Type in System
find the one that says Restore system files and settings from a restore point
Restore it to another time… subscibe to my channel if this helped you :)

Actually not at all. Out of the few viruses I have had to deal with(all my own fault by not keeping my security software up to date), this one has been the easiest to remove by far. No Anti Malware or anything like that even necessary. Simply disable the virus from starting up by removing it in system startup; and then remove it from temp files. Voila!

Go to windows start button and press it. In the search box type “%appdata% and hit enter. Navigate to microsoft/windows/start menu/programs/startup. Double click and enter those folders in that order. You will see a file there labeled “ctfmon”. Right click on it and delete it. Then go back to the windows button searh box and type %temp%. Remove all of the items in that folder.

After you do all that empty your recycle bin and run a virus scan to ensure it’s all gone:)

I got the virus yesterday and it freaked me out. I rebooted my computer and went to safe mode to get rid it. I reset my modem and reactivated my internet service and it didn’t appear again. I downloaded malware protection after that. It is sometimes better to restore your computer to get rid of viruses. It is scaming people nationwide.
